Each rug is thoroughly inspected & evaluated to determine its fiber make-up and risk of color migration (bleeding). Next, we assess any pre-existing conditions and customer concerns with the rug before determining the appropriate cleaning methods.

After our initial inspection, the next step of the cleaning process is dusting. Our Duster tumbles and agitates the rug to remove excess dust and soil before cleaning. Some rugs can hold a pound of dirt in a single square foot even if they don’t look dirty!

Next, we identify and pre-treat any stains before washing the front and back side of each rug using a natural, fiber-safe shampoo. For those rugs with pet urine odors, we use a specialized formula to break down the urine before moving on to the next process.

The rug is then thoroughly rinsed and placed in our Rug centrifuge. Using a high rotating speed, gravitational force flushes out any remaining urine and dirt from the rug.

The last step, the drying process, is one of the most important. We hang each rug in our climate-controlled drying room, which sustains a temperature of 125 degrees with fans circulating warm air around the rugs to provide a superior result. Once the rug is completely dry, we perform our post-cleaning inspection and grooming, including brightening fringe and brushing the rug fibers.  After this, the rug is rolled and placed on a horizontal shelf until it’s picked up or delivered back to you.
